I don’t believe that… with snow, for example…
The “worst” here, 1 or 2 years ago, we had 5ºC and, in the in some locals (with high altitude), a few ice…
Yes, i have a friend in Romania and it’s cold and snowing this week! 😛
Really? I didn’t know in Portugal you have such warm Winters… So is it raining a lot during Winter time? You have to come here for frost then 😉
In Portugal we have some places where the temperatures reaches -5ºC. (i never experience such thing)
On Google: Portugal Serra da Estrela
(you will see one place that, all winter have snow.)
But here, in Azores, we have different weather, but have reached 5ºC… with some humidity, that helps a little… isn’t so “painful”. ahahah. Lets see what we will have this Winter. 😛
I guess the island climate is quite different. We have quite nice Winters but I often feel they are too long and we are waiting and waiting for the Spring… which most often comes in the end of April.
Yes, it’s quite different. We have here, in general, temperatures like 23ºC, with humidity 80% (in Summer, for example)… it’s different to have 23ºC with 50 ou less of humidity.
True, humidity can make a huge difference. So it’s a tropical kind of warmth?
Temperate, but, sometimes, we have “visits” of tropical storms, like Jerry, that could visit us on the next days. ahah 😛
Beautiful picture Elina. Leaves drying up and flowers seeming to close up for the oncoming winter. You’ve captured it so well.
Here in Canada we are still having warm days and sun, but the frost will hit soon enough. After that, the same kind of winter as Finland, ending some time in late March, early April, if all goes well. 🙂
Thank you so much Aldous! Here the nights and mornings are pretty cold already like in this photo, but during daytime it can still be even 10 degrees warmer. Great to hear what it’s like over there, sounds like we have a very similar winter 🙂
Great!! I want that yoo!!! 😛
I’m sure very soon you will get frost 🙂 I heard in Romania it was snowing already.

Lovely composition and depth of field.
Thank you so much Jeff! And, today I would have needed those knee pads you recommended. I still haven’t bought them so I ended up with wet knees.
Don’t worry, they will dry 🙂
🙂
Wonderful shot Elina. There is nothing like documenting nature in progress and you captured this wonderfully 😀
