    1. Thank you! πŸ™‚ If I had decided to still post only one, I would have gone for the black and white also. But I like those bright spring colors a lot too. πŸ™‚

Yeah… i think, in that case (maintain the coloured version) the composition needed more flowers, more colours. πŸ˜€
With B&W, it’s perfect with the compostion you’ve done. πŸ™‚

  1. You know my preferred medium is black and white so I am a little biased here Elina. The perfect exposure from deep blacks to the whites of the flowers works really great with the B & W version, but the hints of color with the greens of spring emerging from the dead browns of winter works really well in the color version also. It’s a tough choice for me Elina πŸ™‚ (I know this helps you out a great deal, LOL).

    1. Haha it’s so cool how alike we think. πŸ™‚ I had similar thoughts and was first going to post only b&w version because it was more interesting. Then I looked again at the color one and couldn’t resist the beautiful spring green which is just so amazing after a long winter. Thank you Joe for sharing your thoughts! πŸ™‚

  2. As a non-photographer, I can’t offer any insight. But I do love to see the colours coming back, and love Snowdrops. Both pics are great! Thanks for sharing Spring, Elina. πŸ™‚

    1. I also love to see the colors coming back. And it’s always a joy to share Spring. πŸ™‚ Thank you for a lovely comment Aldous!

  3. Elina, it’s interesting to read the comments. I’m so glad you chose to display both photos. I expected more to be in favor of the color image, and learned a great deal as to why the B&W has proven to be the favorite (I love the lessons I learn from others!) I have to admit, I remain partial to the color version, if only because spring is all about color, but I can better appreciate your choice for the B&W. Great post!

    1. It is so interesting to hear your thoughts Stacy and I’m so glad you enjoyed both the photos and reading the comments. I agree the color version shows the lovely feeling of spring. Thank you for a wonderful comment and kind words! πŸ™‚

  4. LB says:

While most preferred the B&W, I like the color … because spring is about color, and also because the sun is so warm. Lovely!

    1. You are right LB spring is about color and every year it is the same amazing to see those colors after a long winter. Thank you for a lovely comment! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you for your kind words Laura! I appreciate you and Leanne to accept my photo. πŸ™‚ It’s a wonderful challenge featuring such amazing black and white photos every week.

  5. So beautiful shots, but I prefer the B & W one, because the white of the flowers seems brighter. Thank you so much, Elina, for sharing your nice photos! I went to Estonia and to Finland a few years ago and they are very beautiful country that I love

    1. Hi Kristel! Thank you for your kind words and many likes on my posts, and for the follow! It’s lovely to hear you’ve been to Estonia and Finland and enjoyed your time here. Have a wonderful day! πŸ™‚

  6. Always such an interesting dilemma. Both images are great but for me the monochrome is the winner and the snowdrop header looks so good. You might like to take a look at a post of mine where I posed the question “Color or Monochrome?” http://wp.me/p3gSod-RS. The results were really interesting. Best wishes πŸ™‚
