Incredible picture!! Water is a miraculous substance, I find. We can drink it, and we can soak in it, swim in it, listen to its beautiful sound, watch its reflections. You’ve captured some of its richness here. Lovely in B&W. ๐
That is great Elina. When I saw it first I thought it looked like 6 old glass bottles in a row and had to get my head around it. Very creative, I love it. MM ๐
Wonderful capture Elina so simple yet so dramatic ๐ I love the range of tones from the deep blacks to the sparkling highlights, well done. There is a home near Pittsburg Pennsylvania designed by a famous architect named Frank Lloyd Wright named “Falling Water: and it is built on a waterfall. When the owners commissioned FL Wright to design and build the home the other architects laughed at the owners and said the house would collapse within 5 years. When the owners confronted FL Wright about the other architects opinions he said to them you are not worthy of one of my designs. They pleaded with him to stay on and the home still stands to this day (I believe it was completed in the late 1930’s or early 1940’s). It is a park now and they charge admission to keep up the maintenance on the only house with a waterfall going right through it. Here is a link – http://www.fallingwater.org
You know it’s so great you mentioned this… I actually googled “falling water” before I posted this and that site popped up first. I read a bit and watched the photos and thought how cool the building built on the waterfall was. I didn’t know it was built such a long time ago… and the story about people not believing it was possible and would not collapse. Have you been there? It’s so cool how many interesting things I’ve gotten to know thanks to blogging. ๐ Thank you Joe for telling this story, it will be interesting for others to read also. And, thank you for the kind words on my photo! ๐
To visit “Falling Water” is on my bucket list ๐ Every once in a while there is a documentary on the Public Broadcasting Channels over here on this very house and Frank Lloyd Wright which is where I learned that story. Your photo immediately reminded me of this home and it is so cool how a photo can impact someone ๐
Cool! It’s on my bucket list now also. ๐
HaHa, I hope so we could all visit together ๐
That would be wonderful! ๐
