A ‘selfie’ via one of my exhibition photos. So surreal to have my photos in a museum. Here we were still preparing for the exhibition and choosing the best way to display everyone’s photos.

  1. What a wonderful image Elina I loved it when you posted it and it looks even better matted and framed. To have two generations in this image is just the icing on the cake, wonderful job πŸ™‚

    1. It’s so cool you remember this photo. πŸ™‚ It was actually one of the first photos I edited after getting Lightroom and my skills were not so good back then. Now I managed to process it much better.

I must say I had never thought how many choices are involved when printing and framing a photo. So much detailed knowledge about printing the right amount of pixels for the size of print you want, and getting all the settings right. Choosing between matte, semi glossy or glossy paper. The color of frames and passepartout. A great experience to do this. πŸ™‚

Thank you for your kind words Joe! πŸ™‚

      1. Your photos are quite memorable and you can see the effort and time you put into choosing just the right moment to press the shutter. How could I forget.

There are a lot of choices in Lightroom when you decide to print and even more when you want to frame the print like you say.

About two years a go I ran across this guy out on the East end of the island who had a frame shop that he was closing so I ended up buying his professional matte cutter uncut mattes, glass, foam backing board and everything but frames. I really get enjoyment out of finishing the product after taking the photo.

As a matter of fact after Laurie got in her motorcycle wreck about a year ago she liked one of my photos so I surprised her by sending one to her and she insisted that she blog about it which was really nice of her. Here is the link –

I do like your choice of black matte with your finished product, a lot better than the white I used in Lauries photo.

      2. I agree seeing the finished product is something really wonderful. πŸ™‚ I’ve seen that post of Laurie’s… it’s so sweet you sent her the photo. And I remember your photo also really well, it’s so beautiful!

Thank you for your kind words Joe! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Draco for your kind words! The opening of the exhibition was last week and it was really nice. A very rewarding feeling to accomplish something like this for the first time. The whole photography course has been wonderful. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you very much MM! πŸ™‚ The exhibition was opened last week. It displays the work of all the students from my photography course. Preparations were hard work but once it was done the feeling was very rewarding. πŸ™‚

  2. That’s a good selfie Elina!! πŸ˜€ And how exciting to have one of your pictures in a museum, and what a beautiful picture too! Well done, and something to celebrate!!

  3. Elina, what an fantastic accomplishment! I only wish I could see your exhibit in person, for your photos always make me pause and say “wow.” And now, with this picture, two for the price of one: a great selfie AND a wonderfully captured portrait. Congratulations!

    1. Thank you Stacy for such kind words! Your comment brought a smile on my face. πŸ™‚ And, I really enjoy your photography also!
